Note: This is a CAMO Spider ONLY. A CAMO Chainring is required to complete this system.
This is a spider for use with the SRAM 8-Bolt cranksets that have a removable spider including SRAM T-Type Transmission AXS cranksets, Sram Transmission 70 and 90 cranks, 2025 Cane Creek eeWings Titanium Cranks (8-bolt), and any other cranks that use the 8-bolt direct mount interface.
The CAMO chainring system was created by Wolf Tooth engineers for Chainline And Material Optimization on direct mount style chainrings. The key advantages include:
-
Perfect chainline for wear and shifting precision
-
Optimal material usage for weight, stiffness, and wear
-
Spend less for chainring swapping by buying only the chainring, compared to chainrings that have an integrated spider
-
Swapping chainrings is very fast with only five small bolts and no nuts
-
Availability, as Wolf Tooth has many direct mount options: round or oval, stainless or aluminum, for several cranksets.
-
Wolf Tooth’s patented Drop-Stop® wide/narrow tooth profile for the ultimate chain retention and mud shedding ability
Compatibility
- This spider is designed to work with the SRAM cranksets with an 8-Bolt direct mount interface.
- Two different chainline options are available. The number and letter refer to the mm offset and direction from the mounting face to the centerline of the teeth:
- M5 (3mm offset - Boost)
- Dished towards the frame) is for 52mm chainline for Boost bikes.
- Is for a 55mm chainline on a DUB Wide spindle crankset.
- Praxis Works mountain bike cranks use this offset for DM-A chainrings.
-
This link explaining 148mm Boost spacing will help you decide if you need the M5 or M8.
- M2 (0mm offset)
- Is for a 55mm chainline on a DUB spindle crankset.
- Is for a 49mm chainline on a BB30 short spindle crankset.
- Praxis Works mountain bike cranks use this offset for DM-B chainrings.
- See the image below for how to measure your spindle length if you have BB30.

-
CAMO mounting bolts are included with each spider but can also be purchased separately in a variety of colors
- Chainline - varies by which spider you choose. See compatibility above.
- If you plan to ride in very muddy conditions, we recommend a chainguide or chainkeeper in addition to a clutch-type rear derailleur! Without these precautions, you may experience chaindrops and/or chainsuck.
- All Camo Spiders are not compatible with Bash Guide ISCG05
Installation notes:
- You will be able to access all bolts without removing the spider
- Line up the little dot on the ring with the dot on the spider. Don't worry, you cannot install the ring in the wrong rotational orientation.
- Be sure the bosses on the spider "plug in" to the chainring.
- Torque bolts only to 4-5 Nm and use blue Loctite threadlocker
